class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Chemical-physical treatment plants<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are plants in which, by<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dosing of reagents under appropriate pH conditions, wastewater which is generally not biodegradable due to high toxicity, often due to the presence of heavy metals or organic biocides.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This type of plant is normally used for the treatment of industrial<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">waste from mechanical<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">processing, metallurgical, galvanic, textile, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for the treatment of waste and temporary storage areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the case of water with a high organic content,<\/span><b> the chemical-physical treatment plant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> may be used upstream of biological plants as pre-treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The classical structure of a<\/span><b> chemical-physical plant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> involves the following steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Insolubilization of pollutants by dosing specific reagents\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coagulation by the use of organic or inorganic coagulants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Separation of solids by decantation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dehydration sludge<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Final filtration<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pH check before discharge<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In view of the type of pollutant, additional treatments may be required before the insolubilising tank, such as simple acidification,<\/span><b> reduction<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of<\/span><b> hexavalent chromium<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 ,<\/span><b> oxidation of cyanides, chemical oxidation of surfactants and organic substances.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The correct dimensioning of a<\/span><b> sewage treatment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> plant therefore requires a thorough knowledge of the production process, a proper division of the waste water and the appropriate choice of different treatments.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Biological plant<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Plants<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of biological type are normally applied with waters with high BOD\/COD in order to promote through increased biological oxidation and reduce their values so as to fall within the limits of discharge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are different types of plants and technologies, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Biological sludge plants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Membrane biological systems (MBR)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fluidized bed biomass plants (MBBR)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Batch reactors (SBR)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All these systems, which differ from each other by the support on which the biomass grows or by the method of separation or by the continuity of the cycle, have in common the fact of exploiting<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">an<\/span><b> aerobic microbial population (biomass<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ), for oxidation by<\/span><b> oxygenation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of organic substances into simple substances such as CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and H <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">O<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> .<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The total oxidation of organic substances to carbon dioxide and water is rare: this means that part of the biomass will have to be separated and<\/span><b> managed as solid waste.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There may be other sections in the <\/span><b>biological plant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> structure , such as anaerobic basins for nitrogen reduction or sludge digestion lines.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
